Backout!

I was going to do a post about my long and fabulous day but then there was a blackout! I was locked in the darkness with nothing but cin1607 to keep me company thanks to the magic of cell phones!

Power's on now, obviously, but I'm just doing a drive-by before I go to bed. This way you can know the following:

Car went to garage. Garage says they can't do anything unless/until it stalls again. This is good from a monetary standpoint as they told me that for free, though it is frustrating from a lack of closure standpoint.

Huge thunderstorm! Totally cool! With near-constant lightening and thunder and everything! (This would be why the power went out)

I made yummy almond cookies with chocolate drizzled on them. You're welcome to have some.

I have pretty toes, thanks to finally being able to get a pedicure

I saw a sign in the grocery store that says "Back door friends are the best." I need to own this sign.

I still have not been eaten by bears

And now I'm off to bed!

Storm!

So okay, last night we had the coolest thunderstorm EVAH.

It started while I was baking cookies. Which, as I pointed out to cin1607 last night, is not a euphamism for something.

The first part was this huge wind, and it was neat because there was no sign of rain or anything but the wind was all ominous and stuff. And I looked out the window when it happened then realized this was just the kind of thing that someone in a horror movie would do before the monster came up and ate their face. But fortunately there were no monsters. That I know of.

Then we had thunder, and then we had lightening, and it was the coolest thunder and lightening in the world! It was like bowling balls rolling all over the place while the sky constantly flashed. And sometimes you'd see the actual lightening bolts zinging through the sky! And the lights went out and it was pouring so when the lightening flashed sometimes you'd see the raindrops caught in suspended animation.

And it went on forever! So cool!

Today the town looks like it was hit by a hurricane. There's tree limbs and, in some cases, actual trees that have fallen down. I had to take a detour into work since one of the major streets was all closed off and everything. Neat!

Memo to Akon: If you're going to go through the trouble of making a song that says "shake your body like a bellydancer" why oh why would you include absolutely no belly dancing in the vid? Also? Those are hip scarves, not skirts. I don't mind skimpily dressed women, I mind women who come off looking too stupid to know what clothes are supposed to do. Start out wearing a hip scarf as a skirt and you're not that far from wearing bras as earmuffs.

It is seriously frikkin' hot here. I am luckily with electricity but my parents are not. Current report is that they'll be without until 6am tomorrow, which means my mom may camp out with me tonight as she is uber heat sensitive. On the one hand: girly slumber party! On the other: OMG my house is nowhere near clean enough and I only have an hour after work to shower and clean and eat before going to a get-together at my dance teacher's house!!! AAAAAAA!!!!

Note to self: Turn off computer before leaving so your mom can't see all the cheesecake and beefcake photos that are on your screensaver. Especially the nekkid ones. Ahem.
