Unbelievable!

You know, sometimes you just have to admire the gall.

I'm sitting here, minding my own business, when my cellphone suddenly beeps with a text message. It's from Sprint, telling me to call an 800 number right now or else my cell phone service is going to be interrupted. Alrighty then, says I. I dial the number and find out that according to them I have a past due balance for X amount of money.

This fascinates me for two reasons. Reason number 1: no I fucking don't have a past due anything because I can pull up my bank statement online to prove that Sprint accepted payment from me long before the past-due date and 2. moreover Sprint just sent me a check for X amount of money as I apparently had too much in my account.

So I call up the customer service line and find out their computers are down, so regardless of whether I'm right or not nothing can be done "for 2-4 hours". I explain the situation anyway and get told that Sprint just changed their system, which meant changing everyone's account numbers. And instead of taking my payment for my old account number and applying it to the new account number they didn't even tell me I had, they just let the new account number languish unpaid. Wasn't that nice of them?

To say I am unamused is a gross understatement.

Hey cool!

Well, I'm an aunt again! Mouse has a baby sister named - I'm guessing at the spelling here - Annika. She was born at 1:30 today, thus thwarting my hopes of getting a family pool started as to whether or not she'd be born on the due date.

Apparently she's just a little rusher though as she was born at home. P-sis went into labor, Older Bro got on the phone with the doc and the doula, they all tried to co-ordinate getting P-sis to the hospital when she said "Nope, baby's coming." so Older Brother got to deliver his own daughter. She showed up on the scene at about the same time as the ambulance did.

Quote Older Brother: "Eh. All in a day's work."

They're at the hospital now but plan on being home by dinner. P-sis has her mom in town so they've got plenty of help. Not sure yet when I'll get to meet the newbie but I assume sometime this week.

So, cool. =)

Good Sunday, food and busy schedules

As summer Sundays go, I have to say this was a good one. There was Annika, of course (not that I've met her yet - probably sometime this week) but in general it wasn't bad.

( Various things done today, including food that I cooked b/c I know if nothing else Captain Nancy likes reading about it )

So that's that. Now I move on to ( talking about why I'm busy and probably not doing a lot of stuff that y'all would like me to do )

And with that, I scamper off to take a shower.

PS: butterfly? If you could send me an email that would be spiffy. I've tried emailing you a couple of times but I'm not sure any of the letters have gone through. Thanks!
