thebratqueenOlder Brother and I both watch 24 and email each other about it. Here's my comments to him for whatever they're worth.
Also note that I'm pretty much a spoiler virgin for 24, so if anybody out there knows anything please don't tell me. =)
I knew from reading articles that they were going to make Kim a member of CTU and make her fairly competent. One of the people quoted said they were worried about the audience not accepting her but OTOH they were just as sick of stupid Kim as we were (which makes me wonder whose bright idea it was to play her that way). Frankly I don't care about character continuity - give me somebody I can watch!! Though someone needs to tell her her hair looks like hot ass.
Great acting from Keifer with the drugs at the end. I'll admit I was surprised b/c I was busy thinking this was continuity from last season where Jack's heart stopped. There was that one scene where the soundtrack seemed to be echoing a heartbeat so I thought maybe he was having an attack or something. Be interesting to see how they play the drug angle. Like is Jack going to struggle with it until such time as he needs a boosted metabolism or something and then out come the drugs to give him super strength or whatever.
Yay Palmer! I'd vote for him. It's funny for me to watch his brother because that actor played a character on Buffy so I keep thinking of him as Principal Wood. But he was cool on Buffy too so it's all good. I just want him to kick ass (literally) now.
Don't like the doctor. I got a big creepy vibe off of her showing up with a prescription the day of 24 hour terrorist problem. Possibly a red herring but I don't like her. I get the vibe that the brother doesn't like her either and I tend to agree with Principal Wood.
Jack's partner is interesting. Though I saw just as much latent desire for Jack with him as I did with Jack's daughter. This either speaks volumes about the guy's (Chase?) incredible chemistry with Jack or lack of chemistry with Kim. ;)
I'm surprised they brought back Kate from last year. Was there that much need for a pseudo love interest? I worry she's going to be the new Kim - the hapless female getting into trouble as though the deadly illness wasn't enough to keep us tuning in.
And nice to know this deadly virus is with Dylan surfer dude safe in a Ziploc baggie. Here's hoping he remembers yellow and blue make green.
Finally - and this I did not include in the note to my brother - but Palmer and Jack are still so OTP. Jack clearly had sex with the drug dealer during his time under cover, and if Chase doesn't want to get into Jack's pants I'll bite myself.
