So last night I decide to treat myself to shrimp with angel hair pasta, a little butter and some parmesan for dinner. I have all the ingredients, this should be easy I figure.
Except I didn't check my collandar before dumping the pasta in (I don't normally cook angel hair, hence why this has been languishing on my shelf) and half the pasta promptly slips out through the cracks, leaving me to juggle this mess and the frozen shrimp that did not defrost in 10 min in spite of me following the directions as it promised. All with 10 min until Buffy came on.
I am not the slickest member of our society, I'll be the first to admit.
I did watch Buffy though. What can I say? It was an episode. Some good bits, some bad bits. I don't really care enough to do full commentary, although if I did I'd probably get off on a rant about being a leader and/or an alpha female and why neither thing is something to apologize for and how while it's nice if leaders are super snuggly and give you cookies they don't have to because leader which means they lead and you follow or else you're in the way. (And yes I get that the Scoobies are friends but they still put Buffy in a position of leadership, bitched at her to be a leader, then bitched when she was one. Pick a team, start playing, thanks and drive through). And in my bitchier moments I can't help but note that people who don't like Buffy the character very often are not alpha females themselves which on a basic level shows why they identify with the other characters in the group but still doesn't, IMO, justify the flat out hatred just because she's the one doing what she has to in order to take charge, again, as they bitched at her to.
I also still hate Kennedy and find my only consolation is the thought that clearly she is rebound girl and destined for the curb as soon as Willow meets somebody else who doesn't think that pillow talk is best delivered in a sneer.
I'm divided on Spike last night too, mostly because I couldn't get out of the land of meta when listening to him and I can't tell if that's my fault or the show's. So I bow out of judgement.
I also watched 24 and loved every bit of it, though I continue to wonder how Kim manages to dress herself in the morning. And I maintain my belief in Jack/Palmer - theirloveissopatriotic.
Angel tonight. It will rock. I can't promise I'll be coherent after.
And, finally, I got a signed Lilah card in the mail thanks to
