Paid bills. Poked at spreadsheets which aren't as smooth as I'd like them to be but OTOH I'm not sure yet how to improve them. Also caught up on some emails. Not all, but some.

Finished the main part of the kerchief. Elected not to work on the ties tonight as I could tell that would cut into the time I'd need for everything I just mentioned. The main part's okay, though. There's a couple of spots where the stitch got messed up somehow, which doesn't surprise me at all. I'm working with really cheap yarn here (not the first cheap stuff I used as I realized it was too stiff for what I needed, but still extremely cheap all the same). As I went along there were a few times when I could tell, thanks to having worked with better yarn on the scarf, that the quality of the yarn I was playing with was affecting ease of use. Plus I'm still a beginner, and I do this while watching TV which provides a bit of a distraction.

So all things considered the tiny mistakes are not that bad. What's nice is that there would have been even more of them but I caught them in time and even fixed them.

So that's that. Now to snuggle with Mac and then go to bed.

There's a certain kind of pleasure that comes from clearing stuff off of your To Do list. Particularly when the items in question have been hanging over your head for weeks. Case in point: my need to call my doctor to schedule my annual blood test (which I couldn't do until I knew the dates my boss was going to be out of town) and my need to call my plumber to have him come in and fix my shower.

The second has been a low-level, Crowleyesque kind of annoyance in my life as with perhaps a few days to go until Connexions the tap for the hot water in my shower decided it no longer wanted to turn off all the way. Now this is a minor problem that I've dealt with before, and it relates to the fact that said tap apparently loves to mangle washers to the tune of one every year and a half or so. I'm aware this could probably be fixed by replacing the fixtures, but for right now replacing washers is more in my price range.

Anyway, it's a problem that can be lived with as it is very easy for me to turn off the hot water to my bathroom by flipping a switch in the closet next to the bathroom door. This is good, as thanks to Connexions, gun class, Electric Vindaloo, and my job, I had no time to schedule an appointment. So at least I could turn the hot water off when I wasn't using it and not have to worry about it being wasted.

Still, sometimes you just want to turn a faucet and have it work, gosh darn it! So I'm off this Friday and verily that's when the plumber shall be coming. After that, there shall be much rejoicing.

Having done that, and a few other items on the To Do list, I now declare the rest of the night to be my own. Later!

Kerchief!
