I'm up. No snow yet, but according to the news it should be starting any second now. They've upped the possible snowfall to 14-21 inches, which would be cool if it were true.
My only regret is that this isn't happening tomorrow and Monday since that way I could get a day off. But ah well. Can't look a gift blizzard in the mouth.
I was reading the Dec/Jan issue of Real Simple magazine last night and had a happy moment of serendipity when I came across an article about these women who have a yearly slumber party. This is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about in my earlier post about how adulthood has these myths attached to it which simply aren't true. In this case, it's that when you grow up you can't still have fun and silly slumber parties with your friends. And the great thing about it was that these were powerful women. Like some were TV executives, one was a judge - you get the idea. These are not the women who your mind would picture when thinking of adults who still like to stay up all night in fuzzy PJs and eat Ben & Jerrys directly from the carton while talking about boys. But not only do they do it but it's a happy tradition for them to do it every year. I think that's the coolest thing.
Off to make pancakes now. There's no snow yet but it's cold outside, so it's close enough for government work.
