Freecycle.org is officially the coolest thing in the world. I joined the local mailing list yesterday and as of today I've got a half-dozen people who'd like to take some of my old computer equipment off of my hands (I ended up agreeing to give it to someone who's going to be using it for a charity that helps developmentally disabled children) and there's also someone who says they have a sewing machine that came with their house (!?) that they're not using, so I can come get it if I want.
No clue if the machine's any good, if it works, if it's comparable to a new machine or a thousand years old but still, can't beat the price. (She said she'd leave it out on her porch, so I'm assuming it's not one of those machines that's the size of a credenza).
Now I'm in the mood to go through my house to see if I can get rid of even more things. Suddenly cleaning up is fun!
Talked with mom earlier today (watch me change topics with no segue whatsoever). Apparently she's not so keen on the insanity of going to Brooklyn if we can do Thanksgiving up here. No clue if that means OB and family wouldn't be joining us, as I don't think they've got car enough to caravan their entire brood plus P-sis's mother. I told Mom I'm officially the girl with no preference on where we have it. I figure there's enough stress with these things, no reason to add to it unnecessarily.
I'm so psyched for the holidays though. The weather's turning cold, Thanksgiving's just a few weeks away, Christmas is just around the corner, there's 20 1/2 shopping days left until my birthday... good times. Good times.
