I got a little note today wondering where I was. Apparently I haven't posted since September. Um... oops? I didn't mean to be so quiet!

I think what helped confuse me was that I have been posting over on twitter, which allowed me to check off the "type some sort of update on the internet" box in my mental to do list.

Not much new here other than being busy. There has been knitting, spinning, cooking, working and other things that I can't even remember anymore. Oh! Making things! Like butter. I have made my own butter and it is quite yummy. I have also made cultured butter which was easy but I'm not sure about the result. I mean having butter that knows more about Proust than I do is just embarassing.

This week we're doing a cookie swap at work. It's my first cookie swap so I'm excited.

Aaaaaaaaaand I think that covers it for now. Hi! =)

Okay, I took all kinds of pictures of the festival and my new spinning wheel and when I went to upload them for some reason my camera and computer decided they weren't speaking to one another. Clearly I'll have to send them to couples counseling.

I am way too brainless right now to try to problem solve this, but damned if I'm not going to post a picture of my new baby! So out comes the trusty camera phone, which doesn't take the best pictures in the world but will at least do as a stopgap for now.

Am back in my hotel room after a looooooooooooooooooooong day during which I did my part to help the economy. I am the best patriot. Notable purchases: A spinning wheel, and a weaving thing. Don't ask. I mean I'll go on about it later, but I swear I was only going to get the spinning wheel as far as new hobbies went! Honest!

Place was HUGE and I'm still not sure I saw everything. What did I see everywhere? Clapotis (Clapoti?) TONS of folks were wearing them. The only thing that came close in terms of random people I saw wearing a similar thing? Obama buttons. Awwwwwwww yeah. Almost makes up for the "Women for McCain" bumper sticker I saw on my way out.

Did not meet up with Ravelry people because I was too busy shopping to head over to the lunch meetup. Be amazed I stopped shopping long enough to have lunch.

And now I am back at my hotel room and I am never moving again. Did I mention the part about being on my feet nearly the whole day? Yeah.

Also my nose may have a sunburn. Go fig!

Thursday was the company picnic. There was insanely good food, plus the usual silly picnicy kind of games. I also found out that I still have the ability to serve a volleyball like a badass mofo, but rotate me out of that position and I suck like a sucking thing which is very good at sucking.

Still, good times.

Yesterday was the last of summer hours. I got to leave at noon, which gave me plenty of time for shopping and then getting home for the charity folks who came by to pick up my old bureau. Some moving things around and tidying up later and I am one step closer to having a bedroom that feels like a bedroom and not a place where random pieces of furniture just so happen to live.

Today i went up to the Renfaire. The weather was INSANELY good. Even the sun, which usually shines up there like a cruel and evil thing, thoughtfully hid behind fluffy clouds so that while we had light it was not oppressive. There were the usual food, shows, shopping type fun. I bought some more roving and was assured that I am using my drop spindle correctly, so yay there. I then went home and napped for about an hour, which vastly improves my overall outlook on life.

Now to teach the cats how to make and fetch dinner.

Lifetime's new show Army Wives hits so many of my fic kinks it is NOT EVEN FUNNY. Say hello to my new season pass.

Top Chef returns. After last season I would've written s3 off, but damn it Ted Allen is a judge now. NOT FAIR. Ah well, at least I have good online company to watch it with.

I've ordered a learn to spin kit, complete with drop spindle and a few ounces of wool to practice with. This is all

byrne's fault.

And in case anyone was staying up late at night wondering about this: I am now a fan of Vitamin Water. Not that I'd drink it instead of regular water, but it does make a good substitue for those times you'd be drinking something worse, like soda. Though I'm told Diet Coke is going to be coming with added vitamins now. Much like hybrid SUVs I can't tell if this is brilliant or missing the point.

Semi-related, finally saw An Inconvienent Truth this weekend. My urge to slap our current president has never been stronger.
