Like many folks, I did some gardening today. I am pleased to say that the thyme, mint, and rosemary that I planted last year seem to have survived (still watching the sage to see how that goes). Today for the containers I got grape tomatoes, big boy tomatoes, parsley, basil, and some kind of flower whose name I'm blanking on at the moment.
I was also able to find morning glory and moonflower seedlings, though only one kind of morning glory. Still, it's a place to start. I got those and figure I can maybe try growing some others from seed to supplement them. That way if it doesn't work out, at least I've got the ones I bought.
It was rather nice to do gardening on a day when it was sunny but not insanely hot. I did enough work that I was starving by the end of it, but not dead of dehydration.
Now I am relaxing with cats and watching a marathon of Terry Jones's Barbarian Lives on History International. Good times.

Date: 2009-05-03 03:48 am (UTC)It's not enormously shocking (we're a teensy bit too far north) but kind of disappointing (with a mild enough winter I think it would have).
Oh well. The farmers' market start in a couple of weeks...
