A continuing learning process

So the boss is taking some intermittent vacation time and I have thus discovered another advantage of the new job. Namely that when he comes back from vacation he's not all pissy about it.

Likewise I find I prefer when boss is around, because then I have work to do. And I like my work. Today I was playing around with Excel formulas! It was nifty!

But when the boss is gone there's not as much work for me. I took on and volunteered as much as I could, but even so there was a lot of time last week of trying to find ways to amuse myself. (Erm, not dirty.)

This is, as y'all know, a huge difference from the previous job where the boss being away was an oh so happy thing, and him coming back meant dealing with his mood swings. Plus the tension of anticipating his post-vacation bitchiness, which I didn't realize I had tensed up about until Monday came and I saw that my new boss was in a perfectly good mood. So yay for that!

They're doing work on the office so we can expand, and I'm told that next week they'll be moving into my area (because my boss shall be away again). In theory by early September we'll have our shiny new upgraded office and I will be in a different cube.

Tomorrow is theoretically ice cream day, but we've lost our minions interns and I'm told they're the ones who would go across the street to get it for us. Nummy ice cream days might be at an end. Woe.
