More job sighs

catscradle's recommendation I check out some job listings and - huzzah! Find a job that I think I would be perfect at and which looks like a good amount of money.
Except....
It's in the city, which means commute, which means kissing off easily 2 hours out of my day.
It's also not as much money as I thought, once you take taxes out.
Sigh. If it was local I'd be all over it in a heartbeat but the commute thing really puts a crimp on things. Bear in mind an estimated 2 hours out of the day (an hour there and back) is based on my travel time during the non rush hour hours. I don't even wanna know how bad it gets when there's traffic.
For a local job at that pay it'd be okay, but for a commute job I'd really rather get more money out of it, because that way I could happily pay my bills and pay back people I owe money to that aren't credit card companies and thus trade one stress (bills and debt) for another (traffic) and come out even. To only be squeaking by and have a commute is just sort of bleh.
But, damn it, I liked the job!
Sigh. If it's still available when I'm really looking maybe I'll look into it more. We'll see. I'm still hoping for the local job that's magically going to appear with my name on it when I'm actually at the point of sending out resumes.
