You know if you can't get into the Christmas spirit while watching Christmas Eve on Sesame Street you have no soul. God I love that show. And Older Brother got me the DVD as a pressie! We watched it over at Mom and Dad's and lo' it was a happy thing.
I was very productive on my cooking today. I ended up getting a dessert done last night. Then I had four things down for today and actually got five done. I was even able to grab a quick nap at one point, plus dash out for some Thai for dinner. (Again going with my theory that time and money spent on treating yourself when you're marathoning doing things for the holidays is a good way to keep stress down)
The arrival of a present also gave me the chance to give my mailman his gift bag. He liked the gesture and he also took a second to say that he thought it was great that I both sent out and got a lot of cards. You'd think a mailman would be against the concept of encouraging people to give him extra work this time of year, but in his case it was the opposite. He said he likes when people take the time to sit and write out a card to their friends and family, so seeing me do it for my group of card-getting people and seeing me get a lot of cards in return was nice in his estimation.
I mention that since hey, I only did half the work in that cycle. So all of you who sent me cards this year: not only do I appreciate it, my mailman does too. =)
Tomorrow I have three things to make, which is going to give me some time to get laundry done as well. Then tomorrow night I'll join the folks for Xmas Eve dinner and pigout and pressie exchange. Christmas day I'll be over at my brother's for a good chunk of the time.
And now I sit on the couch and relax and snuggle with Mac.
