Busy Saturday
Aug. 19th, 2006 08:29 pmI've had a remarkably busy day for all that I'm once again zombified due to, I'm assuming, side effects. I made it to the Farmer's Market to buy tomatoes for tomorrow night's dinner, I did some house cleaning, I... well then I grabbed like a 2 hour nap and still didn't feel awake yet, but I was awake enough to have dinner with my folks to celebrate Dad's birthday.
For dessert there was a Carvel ice cream cake purchased by yours truly. I would've made something but after Thursday I suspected it would not be smart to count on having the energy to make a cake. Also? Three words: Double Crunch Filling. Anyone who knows Carvel cakes knows what I'm talking about, and at that point your dessert decision is a done deal.
After dinner I hadstubbornness ener... nah, I can't even write that with a straight face. No way did I really have energy enough, but regardless I attacked this small patch of dirt near the staircase to my back porch once I found out that said patch of dirt was open to anyone in my building who wanted to take care of it. For those who don't know the history, I live in a co-op complex where each building has four apartments in it. The owner of the apartment next to me moved out, and a new owner hasn't moved in yet. The former owner used to put flowers and such in this patch, but once he left nobody touched it, so it became overgrown with weeds.
I was scared to touch it b/c I didn't know if it was his property, co-op property, or what. But, as I say, I found out I could touch it so ZOMG the gardening gloves were on and a weed-yanking I did go. If I have any kind of energy tomorrow I'll pick up some flowers to plant there. The summer's almost over so really at this point anything pretty will work. After that I may put some bulbs in so we can have flowers come spring.
But! I shall be a good girl. Tomorrow the only thing I have to do is laundry (else no clothes for work) and other than that I will play it by ear. If I'm tired/no energy I'll do nothing else except relax and catch up on my Tivo, promise.
