It's Saturday, which in TBQ world means a new recipie. This week it's semifreddo, a sort of but not quite ice cream kind of thing. It's in the freezer now, we'll try it out later.
In other news, I have got to get myself a new monitor. I'm logged in from my parents' house at the moment and on a lark I looked at some of the nifty artwork that
lerefuge and
mpoetess have done lately and I'm floored by how much detail I was missing on my own monitor. My monitor is very dark, even when I have it on the lightest setting. Sigh. More things I can't afford.
Spent the day at the mall yesterday because one day of being at home and doing nothing is fun, two days of it is a harsh reminder that you're only there because you have no where to go. Went to see Spiderman (finally). Liked it but what a waste of Kirsten Dunst. For all they had her do they should have cast Britney Spears or something. And since when do movies still have female characters who's only job in the story is to stand there, be pretty and fall off of buildings? We couldn't give MJ, oh, I dunno, a personality? Just weird.
Ran into a cousin of mine at the mall totally by accident. Turns out she's working in town, if not living here. That was kind of cool. I'm from an Irish Catholic family which means that I've got more cousins than you've ever had hot dinners. But she's one of the nice ones.
She and I also caught up on the various branches of the family that we knew about. I was happy to reconfirm the fact that yes, Christopher Meloni from Oz and Law and Order SVU was, in fact, in a demo movie that one of my cousins made a few years back. I so wish I could run into Chris Meloni at like a con or something now just so I could gush "Oh I loved you in Revolving Doors!" just to see if he even remembers it.
