Y'all know me so well
Jun. 28th, 2006 10:47 pmDamn but you people know me. The most common response to "I called in sick" was words to the effect of "Christ! Are you dying???"
Well after last night I felt like it. I went to bed early with a migraine a-coming, spent the night either awake with a headache or asleep and dreaming I had a headache, and finally gave up about a half hour before my alarm went off.
I used my usual touchstone of whether the relief at knowing I wasn't going in outweighed the guilt of calling in, and boy was that an instant judgement.
I ended up staying in bed until about 12:30pm give or take, then spent the day doing a whole lotta nothing. I'm mostly feeling better now but I'm going to go to bed early again just to be on the safe side.
Of course now I'm having guilt attacks after the fact, but not much to do about it with an hour to midnight.
My biggest hope? That my boss didn't get stupid and reschedule patients from today on Monday. He said we're having a four day weekend, but he's been twitchy about it.
Just have to see.
