Post-holiday schtuff

thebratqueenI think I'm finally coming down from all the craziness of the holidays. Not that I didn't enjoy it, don't get me wrong, but it's a marathon of stuff to do that starts weeks before Christmas and doesn't end until... well right about now.

lucifrix who joined me in knitting, DVD marathons of MST3K, The Daily Show, and Arrested Development. There was also cooking with waffles, Chicken Paprikash, and the saltiest brunch casserole ever. The scariest thing about the casserole is that it was from a Cooking Light recipe that had been prodded and tweaked so that it would be lower in sodium. It's terrifying to think of what kind of a salt lick the family who submitted the original recipe had been eating.
My grandmother has been moved out of the hospital and into a rehab place where she'll learn how to sit, stand, walk, and so forth. As you might imagine this has caused no family drama whatsoever.
My boss is away this week. After a week of him being in a pissy mood due to pre-vacation stress and the phone ringing off the hook thanks to the start of the month and the start of the year, I'm ready for some peace and quiet. I've got tomorrow off in exchange for working on Martin Luther King Day. I'm also taking at least one other day off this week and I suspect it'll be Tuesday just so I can get a nice long stretch of relaxation in.
I'm also feeling vaguely productive so that stretch of time allows me to do things like take the Xmas tree down, reorganize my pantry, run some errands that've been on hold for forever, redo my budget now that my income and expenses have changed with the new yearand see if I can afford a Blackberry and so on.
Or I'll just crash like I've been doing the past couple of days. We'll see.

Also to answer the question I've been getting a lot this week: Yes there will be more Pet and Protocol. Just not while my life's insane with things like family members in hospitals and such. But soon.
