Bad habits

thebratqueenI don't know if it's a show of extreme willpower or sadism to spend the day making bids on Ebay that you know you will be outbid on. I say willpower as I have stuck to my guns (so far) of refusing to pay even one dollar more than the amount I allow myself. I say sadism because the end result of this seems to be that I drive the price up for others who are bidding.
Now, granted, if I wasn't bidding somebody else just might be, but even still I admit to an immature joy in watching someone who ducks in at the last 15 minutes and outbids me get outbid by somebody else in the last five.
Hey, it's a free hobby (again, so far) and it's not like I'm doing it purposefully to drive prices up. But if fate deems it that I shall not have the items that I bid on, then I'm glad Fate tosses me an amusement somewhere else, however evil.
In slightly healthier news I just got in from a long walk. I was on the fence about this one given how muggy it was outside, but if anything's apt to make you get out there it's a newly reborn plot bunny that is best fed when you put the body on autopilot and let the mind wander where it will. I say that honestly because if my pedometer is any judge I did about twice the distance as I would have normally if I'd gone outside to walk for the sake of walking. Bring along a hungry plot bunny and suddenly one more lap isn't a torture but a necessity.
Now to decide if I have brainpower enough to do anything other than shower and stare at the TV.
