Cooking, dancing, stuff

thebratqueenDid you ever dance around your apartment like a total dork after getting some good news?
Uh... yeah, me neither. Definitely no dork dancing. Especially not with shimmies.
Speaking of which, dance class last night was good. We reviewed what we did last week, which was good as I totally forgot absolutely everything we did last week. Also my teacher made more noises about performing and us being a proper tribe. She hasn't said anything official yet, but she's been making offhand comments about her suggestions for what a troupe costume could be, and last night she made a half-serious comment about us picking a tribe name at some point.
All of which is nifty, because while the class is fun I think having an official tribe would kick things up a notch. It's nice too in that she's made noises at me about this before she made them to anyone else (that I know of) which is encouraging and flattering. Though if I were to rate myself I would definitely say I've got a ways to go. I think I've reached a plateau where before simply learning how to do any of this was an exponential leap of ability and now it's the comparatively harder slog of fine-tuning and making it look good.
But who knows? We've had several times in class where I think I'm screwing up only to have the teacher turn around and give me a compliment about how great I'm doing. So perhaps I'm too hard on myself, or perhaps I'm a mix of good and not yet good.
What else, what else... oh yeah, this weekend I'll be doing all the stuff I couldn't get to last week thanks to the stupid plumber. I'll also be doing some cooking. I'm going to try a new chicken dish for dinner tomorrow and perhaps bake some chocolate chip cookies as well, since there's no wrong to be found with chocolate chip cookies.
I've also managed to clear off one of my To Do lists for the moment, which gives me a little breathing room to work on another of my To Do lists. Not sure yet which one it will be and, of that list, what's going to get To Done first. But it's nice to face the weekend knowing I have that option.
