Okay, here's hoping I'm doing it right. Behind the cut are pictures and info for my very first knitted scarf!
The scarf is the Beginner's Basic I from Stitch n Bitch. I knitted it up on Blizzard 65% Alpaca 35% Acrylic yarn in a slightly less bulky thickness than SnB called for in the pattern. The yarn label doesn't say how bulky it is, but the gauge listed is 9 sts and 13 rows = 4" in St st on #15 needles. My local yarn store had yarn that met the SnB instructions, but I didn't like any of the colors so figured no harm in going a size smaller if it meant I'd actually wear the thing.
I likewise used #15 needles per the label rather than the #17 called for in SnB. This made everything a bit smaller so I went for 15 stitches per row instead of 10 and did one extra round of each color than the book called for as well.
The yarn colors are Plum, Light Blue, and Natural.
