Knitting, Veronica Mars, House

lucifrix, tygerseye, and byrne! I made another little swatch! And this time with no extra stitches or holes or anything! Go me! :D
While knitting my little swatch, I watched TV. Veronica Mars was first.
So I read spoilers for tonight's ep of Veronica Mars and for shits and giggles figured I'd give it another go since so many people on my flist like it. Now I could talk about how this ep had a better handling of the mystery of the week, and also how it highlighted that characterization that y'all talk about so much. Or I could be honest and admit I am a cheap, cheap whore who just about melted into an Angelus with glasses style puddle when Logan ran to rescue Veronica and beat the crap out of that guy without ever being asked.
I realize this comes off as a loaded statement because I know Logan's basically the Spike of VM, with all the fannish baggage that that entails, but though I've read recaps I've only seen a few eps so I don't actually have strong feelings one way or another about Logan per se. I just have such a kink for people protecting others without being asked. You may recall this was the same thing that made me oh so happy when the gang on Lost formed their little possee to keep Claire safe.
So... yeah. Cheap whore. Loved that moment. The rest was very nice too, yadda yadda, but ohhhhh pretty. I regret not having this on my Tivo, because I would so be rewatching that scene over and over and over again. I would not, by the way, turn down anyone's offer to send me a copy of just that scene. *cough*
Next up, . I had House on the Tivo because Lord knows I always want to rewatch bits of that show. It's really annoying that House and VM are on at the exact same frikkin time. There's so many hours in the week and this is the cross programming? Agrh.
Anyway - of course House spends his time noticing Wilson's lips. And how married were he and Wilson? Just so married.
I find it interesting that both shows involved significant ship related moments and VM went for the kiss while House did not. I was expecting the final scene (as it was no surprise that it was Cameron at the door) to be this while culmination of what was going on and was very happy that it wasn't. It's not that I mind House/Cameron. I would prefer House/Wilson of course but of all the possible het ships House/Cameron is the only combination that interests me. I just wouldn't have liked it now when it would have been too much too soon on House's part. Which hey, apparently the show agrees with me.
I do want to see more of House standing up to Volger though. I thought before he was just biding his time and making a diagnosis like he does with everything else, and that meant trying several options to see which worked and which didn't just like everything else. But now it just looks like he's been impotently waiting and that just doesn't feel House like to me. Possibly what's going on there is that House doesn't care enough about his life yet to want to fight for it, which would actually make some sense. But either way before the season's out I so wanna see a House-style Machiavellian smackdown.
And now I go to bed.
