Sunday brunch, Numb3rs

Ahhh, a beautiful Sunday where I can sleep in, enjoy a brunch of waffles and proper tea, and relax. After which I'll be cleaning the house because dear God does it need it. Plus I think there's some of the urge to Spring clean mixed in with all that. I want to chase dust out of every corner and possibly find a way to see my dining room table once again.
Earlier this morning I found out that I'm going to be an aunt again. This allows me to win a bet I made with myself, because my spidey sense was definitely tingling the last time I saw my sister in law. So yep, another wee one on the way. S/he will arrive sometime late August, thus adding to the five billion other birthdays that my family has in that month (apparently my people really enjoy getting busy in December) (I also say this while being fully aware I've now jinxed myself so that if I ever have a kid, s/he will also turn out to be born in August, even though personally I'd like to spread the birthdays out a bit).
I'm rewatching Numb3rs as I relax and sip my tea.
boniblithe is so right about the shooting scene in this ep. I missed some of the nuances of it on Friday because I was knitting at the time, but now that I'm giving it my full attention I can see the little touches they put in there to make it more layered than the usual "bang bang cut to commercial" action sequence. I agree 100% with Boni that Rob acting out the fact that Don is actually scared is a beautiful touch. It's not an over the top petrified, Don's still very much the guy in charge, it's just the fear of the guy in charge. He's on the scene, he's got to take it all in and try to take care of his group - really well done.
I'm not done rewatching it yet, but I also like the nice touch of when Charlie shows up and has his reaction they insert a quick cut that includes a math equation being written out, then scribbled over. It's the smallest detail and you could literally blink and miss it, but again it's there and it adds a layer to what's going on.
Plus, you know, Don calls Charlie "buddy". Ahem.
I do have a full report about yesterday's gun lesson, but I'm loath to spend too much time on the computer right now as I suspect that would make me too inclined to stay on the computer and not get any of the cleaning done. So I'm going to go finish my tea (and my trip to the special Hell), clean up, maybe get some exercise in if the cleaning doesn't take too long, and then check back in later with the 411.
