Didn't hit all the errands I wanted to today but did some others in their place so I'm officially calling it even.
If JH were around she'd be proud to know that I escorted the folks to Penzey's, whereupon Mom promptly bought up the store and Dad even grabbed something for himself, the latter of which is really unheard of since my dad usually can't process food related concepts other than the fact that he's fairly certain he enjoys eating. Afterwards we had a nice lunch together at a great little Italian place that I like (those who have visited me: not the place I've taken you to before. A new place. Visit me again and we'll go. =) ) and then I grabbed groceries and went on back home so I could get to cooking.
Cake for mom is baked and cooling on the rack. Ganache is likewise coming to room temperature so that I can eventually try turning it into frosting. Pizza dough is finishing up in the bread machine as the bribe I gave myself for getting the spaghetti sauce done. Though admittedly I didn't have to bribe too much since after licking the beaters to clear off the cake batter I was pretty much ready for any dinner so long as it was made of pure salt.
Anyway, that still needs to be prepped and cooked so late dinner for me tonight, but OTOH had a late lunch too so again with the evening out.
Thanks muchly to those who recommended Open Office. I have it installed but have not poked it yet. I'll wait to do that tomorrow when I'm not so distracted by food. If this lets me put together the spreadsheets I've been dying to make, there may just be sex in it for all of you.
Haven't done any fannish stuff yet but the night is young.
Speaking of fannish stuff - am I crazy or doesn't the Kids in the Hall "Running Faggot" skit involve the phrase "See the faggot, he saved a puppy"? 'cause dude, if it does and nobody's made an Angel icon out of that yet I am very disappointed in all of you. Tsk tsk.

Hmm. Damn. Apparently it's he fed a puppy. So close, and yet so far....
