Evening wrap-up

So the adventures with my boss this week have involved him yelling at me on Monday for doing something exactly as I was supposed to do. Which he should have known, because he was involved with the entire process of me doing it and at no time while helping me do it did he mention I was doing the wrong thing. Also I wasn't, because the short version of this is that I was dealing with an insurance claim, we have a process for dealing with insurance claims, I was following this process to a T.
On Monday we hear from the insurance company that they need XYZ from us in order for the claim to go through. Cue my boss blowing up at me because wah! No! Chaos! Completely unacceptable!
I'll spare you the gory details of all the absurd things he had me do in order to "fix" this problem, but suffice it to say that after two and a half days of doing it the wrong way (ie the way he kept telling me to do it) and him being upset and angry and rar! We discover - wait for it - that we need to mail the insurance company XYZ in order for them to process the claim.
You know, I often say that people would save so much time if they just took it as a given that I'm right. Now I have proof that they would save themselves exactly two and a half days worth.
Plans for the holidays are ongoing. Mom and I are going to sit down this weekend with cookbooks and figure out the menu for Xmas. My Christmas tree is still standing, though one of the ornaments did mysteriously wind up on the floor (unbroken) this afternoon. I say mysteriously because as we all know my cats would never touch the Xmas tree. They also wouldn't bend one of the branches either. Clearly that was done by elves doing scoutwork for Santa.
Suddenly picturing Legolas wanting to be a dentist. I'm frightened, yet amused.
Finally: Happy Hannukkah! =)
