Checking in
Nov. 3rd, 2004 08:15 amDear TV news shows: when the race for PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES is currently separated by TWO FUCKING ELECTORAL VOTES you shouldn't be dicking around with puff pieces on the new Bridget Jones movie! Christ on a crutch! Y'all have the tickers, too! How fucking hard is it to stick a graphic in the corner that has the current EV count? It took me twenty minutes of flipping around between five different news stations in order to find out what's going on.
So, Ohio is still too close to call. Dear God, PLEASE let it go to Kerry. The prospect of four more years of Bush is just... my mind blanks out. I think it gives me actual psychological trauma.
Also? Gotta love this quote from Bush's chief of staff: "President Bush decided to give Sen. Kerry the respect of more time to reflect on the results of this election," Card told GOP supporters at the Reagan Federal Building and International Trade Center in Washington. "The president will be making a statement later today."
Excuse me? He's not declaring victory yet out of respect for Kerry? How about not declaring victory yet because he hasn't fucking won yet?? The fact that all the votes aren't counted yet isn't considered important enough to even get a sidebar mention? Oh yeah. Bush would definitely be more moderate and not at all like the smug, condescending, evil little bastard he was in the past four years when he still had to impress people.
Please God, PLEASE.
