Prior to that it was: David turns his beer around in his hand. This is starting to tread in waters he's not sure he's comfortable with yet. It's the catch-22 of forcing his mind to go slow on somebody he probably would've gone pretty fast with given half the chance. Anybody else it wouldn't matter, but Jimmy always sneaks honesty out of him in spite of David's best efforts. Case in point, calling him on the injury bullshit.
David weighs the pros and cons of admitting he's feeling pretty damned serious about Alexis versus distracting the conversation with injury talk again. He ends up aiming somewhere in the middle. "Just as well I cut out of the party early, I think my leg was bothering me."
Which I had on the ol' clipboard thanks to LJ being a Devon while Kita and I were trying to play.
