Taking stock
Sep. 25th, 2004 08:38 pmOkay, as the day draws into night, I think I can conclusively say that my throat isn't *as* bad as it was (though I can only tell this when the Advil wears off), and that I do have slightly more endurance than I did yesterday. I also think my voice is stronger, but my folks tell me I'm delusional - which is entirely possible.
Dad came by earlier today with glasses and a hamburger. My mom also packed in chocolate chip cookies.
I've decided that since my goal is to be back at work come Monday, I'm going to spend the rest of today and tomorrow doing the least amount of anything possible so that all my energy can go towards getting better. So no making buttermilk pancakes tomorrow morning, as I optimistically promised myself on Thursday, and no going out to do anything either, including going over to the folks' for dinner. Mom said she would make me baked ziti and have Dad bring it over tomorrow, so I would have dinner for both Sunday and leftovers for the rest of the week. Best parents ever.
We'll see if I can get any writing done. I was able to do some email today, which was a nice change of pace from all the TV. I'd really like to write since I've got all this downtime, but sitting at the computer and staying focused takes more out of you than you'd give it credit for. So no writing got done today, but maybe tomorrow if my endurance goes up a bit.
Tomorrow is my second to last day on the antibiotics as well (Monday is the last day), so hopefully between that and the rest I'll be okay to go back to work. I work a later day on Mondays (we start at 1pm) but also a shorter day b/c we only do 6 hours total instead of the usual 8. So if I had to go back on any day, Monday would be a good one to pick.
[fingers crossed]
