Back from doctor. And from pharmacy. In what is a surprise to no one, I have strep. In what is a surprise to me, I still have a fever, though I suppose that would explain the body-level exhaustion and the fact that I couldn't tell the doctor what day it was, even with hints from him.
My treatment is antibiotics, and gargling with salt water, and "it's not possible for you to be taking enough Advil and Tylenol to bring that fever down", and I'm forbidden from going back to work for the next four days which isn't too bad since ... today's Thursday, right? Because if it is then all I had left was Friday, so it's just missing one day more.
I hasten to assure everyone that I did not drive myself around town while feeling like this, so all due credit must be given to the brat Dad who took time off work to be my chauffeur. And now my only plans are to curl up on the couch and sleep, interrupted by periods of curling up in bed and sleeping.
The only bitch of it is that my glasses broke, and I don't have a backup pair, and Dad can't stop by the eye doctor until Sat to get them repaired. So I'm going to have to juggle taking contacts in and out if I want to see anything, which is a little more manual dexterity than I feel capable of at the moment, but OTOH it's not like I have a choice. Fortunately if I fall asleep with the contacts in it won't mess me up. Not that I'm planning on doing that, but I can see that happening.
And that's about all the energy I've got right now. Will post updates when I can, and in the meanwhile my apologies to anyone waiting on an email from me.
