New stuff!

thebratqueenMy digital camera is here! Wee! Okay, yes, granted, I haven't actually put batteries in or started to use it yet, but I have it! It's mine and I shall love it and call it Squishy! Once I do know how to work it I can guarantee I'm going to spam you guys to hell and back with pictures, so you've definitely got that to look forward to. 8)
Beyond that, today brought a slew of productivity in pretty much everything that wasn't related to writing. Though I hope to amend that latter bit with a phone call to Kita later tonight, so there. And depending on how things go tomorrow night or Sunday afternoon I might actually put fingers to keyboard as well. It's a new concept, I'm fascinated to try it out.
Been rereading PoA just to refresh my memory and see how much the movie changed. It is scary how much throwaway canon they kept intact. Man, gotta give props where it's due. (Yes, I know they did change some stuff. But I think what we have here is a very LotResque situation where the person in charge was doing the best they could to appease both movie format and the fanbase. I mean keeping up with pissant things like "page 394" is far easier not to do than to do, so I take it as a sign of courtesy when they include them. Thus endeth my desire to get into any debates about what the movie may or may not have screwed up.) deepad, prior to this I always kinda joked about hyppogryffs, but now I want to adopt one. It's probably bad that this urge has come upon me at the same time I've been thinking I should get another tattoo to mark my 30th birthday (this coming November, shop early and shop often! ;) )
Caught up with the last two Daily Shows thanks to my wonderful Tivo. How much do I love Jon Stewart for not even bothering to pretend that he thought Garfield the movie was going to be good? How scared am I that Roger Ebert did think it was good?
Andversailles_rose wants me to enter a contest where I describe, in 1,500 words, "the character of the American people to the rest of the world." I'm finding a hard time thinking up the 1,487 words to use once I've finished with "Dear rest of the world: we are really, really sorry. About everything. Oops!" But on the other hand there's money and a free trip to Italy in it for the winner, so maybe I'll give it a go.
