So here's the insan-o fic idea of the moment, courtesy of me chatting with wolfling last night on IRC...




[TBQ] you know the other guilty pleasure thought going through my head?

[TBQ] as long as I have no shame with you ;)

[Wolfling] totally shameless hussy you are ;)

[Wolfling] which is a lot of fun

[TBQ] basically it was the thought of combining kinks. Like if I was doing the arranged marriage thing anyway, why not throw in concubine type stuff as well?

[Wolfling] ooo. yes.

[TBQ] like Wes, instead of being raised to be a Watcher, was raised to be the ideal spouse to someone of power in the war against demons

[Wolfling] yum.

[TBQ] see?

[TBQ] hot fudge all over that ice cream

[Wolfling] with some whipped cream

[TBQ] and then there's like a war on or whatever

[TBQ] and b/c of circumstances being what they are Wes is forced to get married to Angel - who he's never even *seen* (and vice versa)

[TBQ] and he's kind of pissed about this because, hello, VAMPIRE

[Wolfling] and even a freak (pervert?) among vampires because of the soul

[TBQ] Exactly. But he does it because he has to, so he shows up in Angel's castle (because there's always a castle ;) ) with that "This will not kill me no matter how hard you try, you fuckers" kind of look and attitude about it

[TBQ] and he's Mr. Trained. Mr 100% Obediant. Does his job perfectly b/c that's what he's supposed to do.

[Wolfling] but the anger is still there underneath

[TBQ] And Angel's like "okay, look - I appreciate the effort. But for god's sake we're married and that means we're either in the best position to kill each other or be ideal partners for each other. Can we at least *try* the second part?"

[Wolfling] heh. yes

[TBQ] and then there's more but maybe I'm boring you

* TBQ ahems and shuts up

[Wolfling] no, please continue

* Wolfling pops a couple of chocolate almonds

* TBQ swipes one

[TBQ] I always like to check the boredom factor b/c you never know when you've crossed the line to that T-shirt at gaming conventions

[TBQ] "Please do not tell me about your player character" or words like it

[TBQ] okay, so they're married b/c of the arranged thing. And Wes is all on his own except for Angel, which Angel is pointing out to him.

[TBQ] And I think Wes even shows up with a love spell. Like he's got this bottle in his hand and when they're alone in the bedroom he's like "Here. I've been instructed by my father to drink this if you wish. You can have a truly willing and obediant slave."

[TBQ] and Angel's like "Doesn't anyone just talk anymore?'

[Wolfling] hee

[TBQ] So Wes is still trying to be all bitter but Angel keeps throwing him by not acting like an asshole

[TBQ] so he's finally like "Okay, fine. What do you want to talk about?'

[TBQ] So Angel sits and chats with him and tries to find out the real Wes - which Wes doesn't give up easily, b/c of the bitter thing - but a few things are gleaned and there's this hint of ice breaking

[TBQ] and then they have to have sex.

[Wolfling] oh yes the great fuck or die (or variations on the theme) kink :)

[TBQ] well you know, marriage. has to be consummated and all that ;)

[Wolfling] yes

[TBQ] So they're up to that part and Wes is fine. Comfortable ground. This is what he's been trained for, he can do whatever kink Angel likes, just name it, blah di blah.

[TBQ] And Angel's like "I don't want a robot" (because I say he can say robot, even in this AU of vaguely medievalish stuff) "I want a person."

[TBQ] And Angel at this point has also twigged to the fact that this is not the first time in Wes's life that Wes has clamped down on his emotions and suffered through whatever it is life's throwing at him

[TBQ] So he gets Wes into bed and tells Wes just to let him lead. And Wes is like okay, whatever. And Angel thwarts any attempt for Wes to go into the automatic stuff that Wes could do without thinking.

[TBQ] which means Wes basically has to sit there and take it as Angel does his level best to actually turn him on and get a response out of him ;)

[TBQ] which, being Angel, he does ;)

[Wolfling] of course

[TBQ] so Wes is totally thrown, b/c he's not used to this concept of somebody taking care of him - he totally wrote that off as a possibility back when he was like, five

[TBQ] while Angel's just like "Hi, married. That's the point."

[Wolfling] :)

[Wolfling] I like it too because for once it's wes who's the one who needs to be taught/is the student

[TBQ] [nod]

[Wolfling] maybe angel can use hand puppets to explain it to wes ;)

[TBQ] plus it hits my arranged marriage kink, which is two people who know nothing about each other being stuck together and having to form a bond of closeness and eventually love

[Wolfling] yes :)

[TBQ] I should write this out Strategy-style

[TBQ] 'cause then I could fuzzy tiger over all the pesky details

[TBQ] like instead of figuring out a world where this could happen, I could just say "it's a world where this happened"

[TBQ] gotta love shortcuts ;)

[Wolfling] yes :)

[TBQ] yes to shortcuts or yes to I should write this? or both? ;)

[Wolfling] if I do the post apocalypse story I probably will do it that way too
