Fic and taxes

thebratqueenGot my paperwork back from the accountant. Between the refund I'm getting from the state and the amount I have to pay the Feds I'm coming out ahead, but even still I'm annoyed that I had to pay anything to the Feds at all.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I mind taxes per se. I'm saying I mind paying taxes now when in theory I had the maximum taken out of my paycheck over the past year. This should have been paid already, and yet somehow it was not. Color me not amused in the slightest.
I'll go over the paperwork this week, see if I can make heads or tails of it. But as the accountant who did the return is good and the accountant my boss uses to calculate how much to deduct from my paycheck is bad (he's a friend of the boss's, which is why the boss uses him. Frankly the boss doesn't like his work either) I suspect this was a screwup on the math of the past year more than the math of the return itself. Now the question remains of whether we can get the math fixed for the remainder of this year or if I'll be stuck with the same problem in 365 days. (Also, considering the refund from one and the payment on the other, I can't help but wonder if somebody screwed up and switched what money was supposed to go to where. Grr. At least the two of them more or less even out. That's something.)
Anyway...
In other news it's a lovely Sunday afternoon. Older Bro and his wife and kids are coming up for a visit, so that should be fun. In theory I was going to spring clean today but for the sake of my family I will boldly sacrifice that need and put it aside until another day. I'm loyal like that.
I'm also stuck with a bunny which was inspired by the junkie ficathon thing and blatently encouraged by one![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
wesleygirl, she of many evil bunny births in her day, so we'll see if the idea survives the night or if I've got another Strategy on my hands.
