Fun with lunch breaks

Been thinking a lot about season 3 of Angel and what I feel about it now that we're drawing to a close. So far I'm going to have to say that if I ranked the seasons it would have to be 2, 3 and 1 in order of best to worst, but we'll see if the last 2 episodes of this season pull out a miracle. (and note I'm not saying season 1 was the worst ever, just that I'd rank it last - but that's still WAAAAAY higher than I'd rank most TV out there).
I'll probably do a LJ post about my season 3 thoughts once it's all said and done, but as a sneak preview I've got to say that the assassination of Cordy's character is, to me, the crux of everything that sucked. Yeah Fred was superfluous and never written consistently, yeah Gunn was out of character more times than not and yeah there was Connor, but if you ask me where all roads of suckage lead to it goes back to what they did to Cordy. But again I'll chat more about that once the season's in the can and I can really do a proper analysis.
Finally ...
Gah! Angel spoilers are frustrating me. It seems like for every seriously "SQUEE" spoiler I read for Angel, I read another one where it sounds like the writers decided to deliberately see what they could do to fuck things up in the worst examples of writing possible. I'd love to trust in Tim but he's been cut off at the knees so often this season I worry that "Benediction" is really just going to be like his Pylea episode - as good as he can do with the pile of shit he was given to work with. Sigh.
At least the Buffy spoilers are rocking and rocking hard. Haven't read a single one of those yet that didn't make me go "YES!!!"
