Surprisingly it wasn't the gay thing that made me scream loudest. It was him talking about the Patriot Act - which notably was the first thing that got applause from the other side of the fence. Still, nice to hear that there were some dissenters. (Loved the booing on the idea of keeping the tax cuts too).

Beyond that what can I say? He tap danced around everything. He claimed credit for things he didn't do, he cited stats that had nothing to do with the point, he answered debates with responses that didn't relate to the question and he outright lied or obfuscated the rest. The world TRUSTS us? Since fucking when? How do you mistake the UN hating our guts for them seriously wanting to put us on their Christmas card list?

Abstinance education? Yeah that'll work.

What amazed me most of all was how he would say one point, and then two minutes later argue the opposite. Iraq is about protecting the security of the world! Except that it was about our own personal safety and we don't care about what the world thinks! I don't use this phrase often but: jigga-what??

Likewise allow me to marvel at him saying that we need to improve math skills in this country. I marvel at it because he doesn't suggest doing so in the Oval Office where decreasing the amount of money coming into the government somehow equals lowering the deficit.

And let's talk about staging, shall we? Gas masks under the seats? The sweet little black girl for him to hug? What the FUCK? You know if it was so damn dangerous to be there why'd they allow the kid? What was it, Take Your Daughter to The Terrorist Attack Day?

You know the thing that frustrates me the most is that there are people out there who can't spot the holes in the arguments. Who can't see that Orange Alerts and a stock market that had an upswing of only a couple of months doesn't equal a safer America that's now living in prosperity. And moreover they can't even see the bullshit that's in the speech itself! I don't want a State of the Union by fucking Anne Coulter! I shouldn't be able to disprove your every argument without even having to crack open a book to cite stats! The logic is FLAWED and we can SEE that except some people can't or they just don't care.

And do you even want to get me started on a president that wants to set the precident of judges not being allowed to make rulings on the law unless the president likes what the ruling is? Do I even have to explain that one?

Sigh. Just... sigh.
