It's MP's fault. I don't know why but her list made me feel like doing one of my own.

1. Spoiler whores should perform common courtesy and respect the right of spoiler virgins to remain that way. Conversely, spoiler virgins need to recognize that that courtesy stops at the moment that the actual studio spoils the movie/show itself by putting the spoiler into widely released commercials and promos. Yes, it sucks to be spoiled but the point at which you demand that spoiler whores run ahead of you and sheild your virgin eyes is the point at which you are now taking advantage of them. Stop it.
   
   
2. Absolutely nothing about the baby arc of Angel s3 ruined s3. The baby arc was the one good thing about s3. s3 was shot in the foot by the forced inclusion of romance where there was none before.
   
   
3. I do not subscribe to the cult of canon. If a writer on a show does a horrible job of writing an episode and completely ignores all previous continuity or characterization, then damn right I'm going to refuse to give that ep (movie/book) as much weight as any of the other ones. Telling me I have to swallow it all as "real" because it's canon is the same thing as telling me to never ever engage my mind while watching or reading thus stuff. I have a brain and I refuse to stop using it.
   
   
4. I agree that Spike, in spite of his words to the contrary, might not have raped thousands of little girls. That is because Spike is known to engage in hyperbole. It is not because William the Bloody was the fluffiest vampire that ever did fluff and who spent his tender hearted days wishing he could read to the blind if only Angelus would let him.
   
   
5. Joss Whedon, in spite of appearances to the contrary, has a schtick. His schtick is that he has no schtick. I would like him to take a lesson from Robin Williams in learning how constantly being "on" during interviews actually becomes seriously annoying after the billionth time.
   
   
6. Regarding s6 Buffy, I feel that the Troika was one of the best villians ever, that people who bitch about SMG "not acting" need to learn what the Hell depression looks like, and that people who similarly bitch and moan that those of us who didn't like s6 "didn't get it" need to remember it's not that we didn't get it it's that it was done very badly. Moreover I can't believe that anybody in Mutant Enemy thought that we needed an entire season of episode after episode of Buffy being kicked in the crotch as though the pain of her dealing with trash day is why we tune in.
   
   
7. In s3 Buffy Wes was damn near always right and the Scoobs damn near always wrong.
   
   
8. Angel is the better show.
   
   
9. Though I am occasionally a cheap whore, in general I dislike when writers include shout-out after shout-out to the fans because it strikes me as pandering. As Jon Stewart says: don't be us, be better than us.
   
   
10. Very few people should ever attempt to write Angelus. Fewer still should try Dru.
    
    
11. I like Dawn (minus s6 "Get out get out get out!"), Connor, Darla, Groo and Justine.
    
    
12. Willow and Riley would have made a much better couple than Willow/Tara or Buffy/Riley.
    
    
13. I dislike people who engage in clip theft or other forms of fannish stealing, but I think those of us with experience in these matters need to tone our "Let's get 'em!" responses down from 11 because there's a difference between punishing the guilty and flaming the newbies to a crisp the second we hear a hint of them possibly stepping out of line. You don't teach courtesy by being an asshole.
    
    
14. The phrase "I'm just sayin'" needs to be stricken from general vocabulary for at least five years. Except, of course, for jennyo ;)
    
    
15. Xander's Lie is the most overrated piece of canon I have ever seen in my life.
    
    
16. The people who don't like Buffy as a person and the people who are themselves uncomfortable with leadership is a Venn diagram with some overlap.
    
    
17. The only time Faith is ever interesting is when she's on Angel. So to speak.
    
    
18. Splash pages are the stupidest and most useless things ever and if I really controlled the world I'd make every last one of them disappear.
    
    
19. Xander? Possibly interested in Spike. Spike? Not so much in reverse. (Though that's not to say you can't get me there.)
    
    
20. BNFs who do not discourage the hive mentality of their fans who swarm and attack anyone who dares to make them frown are people I rapidly lose respect for in a big hurry.
    
    
21. There really are people in fandom who would do well to go outside and interact with 3D human beings a bit more.
