thebratqueenOkay, gotta get a quick rant off about work, then I'll dive into the virtual Angel stuff -
So we're starting up this new service/business where we work and today I walk in and my immediate boss is in manic mode again - you remember how she gets when she's like that. So she's all "We need to get XYZ done and we need to get XYZ done as of yesterday because BigBoss wants it done and it's not done yet."
Now so far I'm the only person who can do the XYZ thing. When XYZ was brought up weeks ago I was told we needed it soon but there was no deadline and there was some talk about getting other people to help me. So I said fine, based on the list of people they gave me, I said that those people could do certain parts of the project, hand it to me, I'd finish it off and we'd call it good.
Except the necessessary information was never given to those people or me so it's just been sitting there and it's not like I can do anything without the material! SIGH
So ImmediateBoss is all "we need to get this done because we're either full steam on this or we're going to give up on it entirely" again, manic much? can we have some grey area? "and we have to get it done because we sent out the ads and people are looking at the website and we have nothing to show them!"
GAH! Or we could have not sent out the ads! Why did we send out the ads? This is a small business, owned by BigBoss, who created this project in the first place so it's not like we're trying to meet some deadline set by the corporate office or something. We came up with this! We could have sent the ads out whenever we damned well felt like it! Why, fuck why, did ImmediateBoss do a mailing that says "check out our product at this website" when we have neither the product nor the website yet??? How simple is it to just not do the mailing?
I mean I get the frustration that we all wanted this up and running sooner than it was, and that apparently it was miscommunication that caused the delay in XYZ, but don't fucking blame me for the fact that you made a stupid management error! You advertised a non-existant product. You knew it was non-existant when you sent out the ad - so suck up the blame! Don't come on me like I fucked up, then tell me I have to change my entire work schedule so you can hover over my shoulder and make sure I'm doing what you told me to. You know what else gets me to do what you told me to? Telling me what to do and then giving me the materials to do it! GAH!
