thebratqueenI'm having one of those days where I want to write but I can't get my thoughts organized enough to do it. Hints of the next Epiphany are dancing around in my head but I can't make the various scenes settle down into anything resembling order. This has the effect of making me feel like my engine is revving but my wheels aren't touching the ground. Murph.
Might try reading some fic, see if I can't kick-start the bunnies.
Posted a clarification on the spoilers for the Spike/Angel ficlet I wrote last night as I realized this morning "spoilers for season 5" is kind of vague and apt to screw people up in either direction. Basically if you know how Spike comes back you're fine. If you don't wanna know how he comes back don't read. That's the only real spoiler in there.
In other productive news I've got a starter for some french bread doing its little thing in the fridge. Never made french bread before so this should be interesting. I did the starter last night, and today I've got to add some more flour and whatnot before letting it sit overnight yet again. The actual baking will happen tomorrow afternoon.
I really have become such a cooking whore. I dropped in at Bed Bath & Beyond yesterday to pick up some water filters and wandered over to the bedding section because if there's one room in my house right now that is woefully lacking in any form of cohesive decoration it's my bedroom and I thought maybe some new bedding might help.
Man - the stuff does nothing for me. I spent more time drooling over various forms of bakeware back in Kitchen than I did over pretty bedding patterns. Mind you, this could partially be due to the fact that BB&B apparently rotates the stock in the bedding section pretty much never so there wasn't anything there that I didn't see the last time I vaguely thought about new bedding, which was about 3 years ago now I guess.
Picked up Dave Matthew's CD yesterday because I was jonesing for new music (again trying to kick-start those bunnies) and Sting's CD rudely does not come out until this Tuesday. Plus I heard a few of the songs on MTV2 and thought they weren't too bad. It's a good CD. One or two songs really struck me, though unfortunately not in the way I need for fic writing right now. I thought about trying to vid them (I'm all about the vidding thoughts now that I've got the zippy new computer on the horizon) but I think it would be too hard. lerefuge ever needs some quotes to use for a collage for arc 3 in Epiphany, I can definitely provide the hookup. (Side note to Neige - do I owe you anything for the zine? I feel like I'm supposed to send you something. Lemme know.)
Oh - in other news I caught an episode of the UK version of Coupling on PBS last night and I was wondering if anybody more familiar with the show could let me know where the ep fell in the grand scheme of things. I don't know the character names, but it was basically one about an office party told from the differing POVs of two of the characters. I ask because while it was nice enough for what it was it didn't strike me as anything spectacular, so I was wondering if this was considered a sub-par ep for the series as a whole or if it was fairly exemplary.
Finally, the new season of Angel starts this week and I realize I am woefully lacking in Wesley icons. How I ever managed to phase my boy out of rotation I'll never know. I need to find some hot pics of him to fix this.
