Best. Opening. EVER. (thank you [livejournal.com profile] lovebytez!)

Madonna? Almost dangerously passe but definitely came back with a bang. Hmm, wonder how many fanboys are suddenly discovering the world of RPS?

Did you notice that the Fab Five got a HUGE round of applause when their names were announced in the opening credits?

Nice to have you back, Chris. You've had better monologues but on the other hand considering the hosts that have tried to replace you I'll take you reading from the back of a box of Wheaties, let alone A- material, anyday.

"Black eye from the straight guy"? Shut the fuck up Jimmy Fallon.

Fab Five did marvelously. I love them all. I hate Beyoncee for getting to touch them.

Kyan had his arm around Carson in the audience!!! KyCarTed=OT3!!! Theirloveissoplausible!

Is it just me or did they recycle the set from last year?

After seeing him perform and accept awards and generally be himself I.... *cough* I think I have to admit I like Justin Timberlake.

Glad I caught some of the pre-show to know that Johnny Cash at least got one award (Best Cinematography, I think). Since he wasn't there I knew he wasn't going to win the big one but if anybody had to win it I'm glad it was Missy. Anybody else would've been too cliche. Plus at least she actually had a good video, unlike certain people we could mention, Lady Marmalade we're looking at you.

I liked the mix of genres that you got in categories like Best Male/Female.

Aaand I'm yet again distracted by the Brit/Madonna/Xtina pictures that are in the background on my screen here. Tell me again why we don't have porn movies starring all 3 of them?

I have long felt that Metallica could kiss my ass since nobody but nobody gets to piss on their fans and retain any respect from me. So I wasn't really into the idea of them doing the closing number. Then I was vaguely okay with it since turning Metallica into a cover band worked for me as an acceptable blow to their egos. Then they played that god awful song. Who's fucking idea was that? Did you notice how even the mosh pit pretty much stopped moving? I think I saw one guy checking his watch. Stupid, stupid move on the part of the producers. It completely killed the energy of the show.

Still, all in all I've got to say it was a good show. Excellent energy throughout, I can't think of any awards that were given that made me want to throw something at the screen and, again, Best. Opening. Ever. I'm glad I watched.
