End of day

Thanks to all those who posted help with the computer problem. I somehow managed to go through all the steps and then stay connected long enough to do the update, so knock on wood that that takes care of it.
In other news, je suis stressed. I'm not sure if it's from today, which was insane at work even without the computer problems, lack of sleep, legitimately having too much to do or what. It's the kind of thing that makes me wish I could take a mental health day, but considering that would only equal twice as much work waiting for me when I got back I can't say I'm eager.
In other other news it looks like I'll be going to the US Open on Sept 6th. I haven't been there in a bazillion years so hopefully it'll be fun. I think that day is the women's finals and the men's semi-finals or something. I've been so not paying attention to tennis for so long that unless it's a Williams sister I'm sure I won't know who I'm looking at. But still, it's a thing.
Oh - and in the "still more reason why I hate the president" file comes the news that Elder Brother, sis and the hobbit child will not be visiting at the end of this month as planned because, according to EB, they're worried about the terror alerts. SIGH.
Okay, now, granted - EB shouldn't be such a fucking moron as to confuse Bush's whole "no, really, there ARE weapons of mass - look over there, a terror alert!" policy for the real damn thing, but at the same time things like this are part of the many reasons why I have such a seething hatred for the asshole who's in office. Bad enough he does this evil crap in the first place, but then it filters down and actually hurts people. You know, I'd love to give the benefit of the doubt but I find it hard to believe Dubya actually cares that his lying horseshit has been doing more day to day terror damage than the actual terrorists he's supposedly defending us from.
NOT that I am BITTER.
Sigh. Sorry. Told you I was stressed. Good thing there's donkeys.
