Did I say "Oh, too bad I missed her?" and go to bed anyway?
Nooooooooooo.
Sobeyondallreason and I stayed up and chatted until maybe 1:30 in the morning, and we've established yet again that we're both going to need calling plans with unlimited minutes once she moves over here because trouble is clearly a-brewing for us in phone bill land. (And miss_edith can stop laughing her ass off anytime now)
Also we have a date to watch the MTV Vid Awards, via phone, together.beyondallreason tells me this means she will need to get a hands free and I told her what she feels a need to do while talking to me on the phone is between her and her God.
I shall also keep my promise to her to never mention what she said about Tarzan and Jane. Though I still say everyone should know what word she chose to place in the blank of: "I really want to see ________ sex."
Fannish things were discussed. I've finally found out who, in the world of sparkly boys, is the fish and I feel a sense of closure thanks to that.
We also chatted about how fandom is primed for the Next Big Thing [tm]. Opinions were volleyed that LOTR, Smallville and HP are pretty much where they're gonna be and that's the end of that. PotC, though pretty, is only a single movie right now and IMO doesn't have that Phantom Menace like ability to set the fan world afire (though this may change now that we've got a guaranteed sequel).
My thought last night was that the Next Big Thing [tm] might come with the new fall season, though now that the sun's come up I wonder if QAFUS might not be a sleeper NBT. It's certainly getting more popular here in the land of LJ, though the downside is that we have to wait so long for s4 that it might lose its chance.
Until then, there's always Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.
