I'm up I'm up
Jul. 5th, 2003 01:01 pmMan there is just something in the air that is making this such a sleepy weekend. Either that or maybe I'm catching up on the sleep I missed during the week.
July 4th went by well. My first official BBQ was a success. Chicken kebabs, burgers and dogs were all cooked and consumed, and then later S'mores were s'mored and then gallons of water were drunk 'cause DAMN those things make you thirsty.
Thanks to all who sent supportive hugs for the Older Brother thing. It's the silliest thing b/c I knew everything was going to be fine, but even so it's a shoe that has to drop and chaos theory suggests we can't predict the outcome of everything so there we are. Me bursting into tears after the fact was mostly due to A) relief at the release of tension I didn't even know I was carrying and B) me being the girliest girl who ever did girl.
But I'm fine now =)
In random news, I was at the bookstore the other day and, I think, finally discovered the type of lacey crochet I've been trying to find patterns for for months now. Apparently it's called filet crochet and it's all done with techniques I know how to do. So now I just need to search the web for some lessons and perchance lacy stuff might be in my future.
Beyond that I'd just like to say for the record that there are worse ways to spend a Saturday morning than curled up in bed with MST3K and your cats. That is all.
