As for what else I did today -
Baked a chocolate cake from a new recipe. It was fun b/c the frosting in no way looked like it would work based on the written measurements, but I tried it out and sure enough it did.
What? I'm amused by chemistry. At least in terms of how it relates to food.
Got enough sleep last night to recover from Harry Potter. Then picked up GoF to reread because I'm still jonesing for more. Thanks to those who provided me with fic recommendations. Don't know when/if I'll get to all of them but by all means feel free to keep pimpin' stuff at me.
In other news, finally sat down with Mom and a "mostly doing this just to keep the girls company" Dad to watch Welcome to the Hellmouth and The Harvest. I am now proud to report we have 2 new Buffy addicts. Both of them wanted to know why I wasn't going to visit every night this week so they could keep watching. (And in answer to why they don't watch w/o me b/c I left them my s1 DVDs, it's because they're still scared of their DVD player ;) )
So, since they were addicted as of about 15 min into Welcome to the Hellmouth, I'm just going to let them watch every ep in order. No point in jumping around and confusing them. Granted this means it'll be a while before we get to AtS, but I'm willing to put this time in for a good cause ;)
This is also fun because, other than vaguely knowing that Angel can turn evil, my folks know NOTHING about the show. So I'll be watching everything unfold through the eyes of total virgins. Mwah ha ha ha haaaa!
Something else that amused me? Being reminded that Angel's first official line ever was a grunt. Ah, how little we knew back then ;)
And just to show snark runs in my family, not long after Mom and I chatted about how thin certain actresses, like SMG, were, we then turn on WttH, watch the establishing shots, and as we pan over all the skeletons in the science classroom my dad observes "Man, she is thin."
My folks. Gotta love 'em.
