thebratqueenYep, I read the Buffy wildfeed. (No, don't panic, I'm not posting spoilers without a cut tag. This is just me commenting about me and wildfeed.)
I debated about reading the wildfeed for the final episode of Buffy. Part of me thought that maybe I should just stick with the spoilers I had and be surprised. But then I reconsidered. I mean I've watched Buffy for years now with the wildfeed so reading it for the final ep just feels like closure.
Plus I'm going to be watching the ep with friends and based on how watching the finale with them last season went there's going to be plenty of "Wait - what just happened?" "What did so and so just say?" b/c when you're watching with other people there's always that danger of someone laughing too long at a joke, or making a comment or whatever that drowns out some of the dialogue so, spoiler whore that I am, I'm happy to be the girl who can pinch-hit and give quickie explanations of what was missed.
That being said, it definitely reads better than the summary of these spoilers indicated. I actually got a little sniffly, and as it reads it doesn't look like Spike stealing Buffy's limelight so much as getting a final story just as the rest of the supporting characters do.
I noticed Leoff didn't comment about Spike's "shoe" mutterings after his dream so I'm wondering if the Shanshu joke got cut or if JM was mumbling so much that Leoff didn't pick up on it? Also couldn't tell if Amanda died. Gotta say I'm a little unimpressed by the only deaths being Anya (or even Amanda if it's her too, but I'll save that for seeing the ep) though. I mean killing off someone who we already knew wasn't going to come back even if we had a next season? Not really very avant-guarde there, Joss.
Angel's back on quippy, in a way that now bugs me, though I wasn't bugged by it last week as much as others were. Again just goes to show that Joss needs to stop writing his character.
And we kept the cookie dough speech??? WHY?
Still, read much better than I thought it would. As an ending I'm okay with it. And hey - I was right! Sunnydale does get eaten! (And again more comments on that after the ep airs).
Just one thing though - Joss, honey? Did you not learn from The Gift that you can't put out fake spoilers that are better than the real ones? Why spread the rumor that you had super-secret scripts and multiple endings when apparently you DIDN'T? Just accept that your spoiler whores were with you until the end and move on. 'cause really the only thing that the fake script/secret scenes rumors did for me was get my hopes up that we wouldn't have the cookie dough speech and, well, look how that turned out.
