Still more ramblings

DUDE. Derek Jacobi is narrating The Manor House. As though there was any doubt left that I am this show's whore.
Checked the TV Guide, They will be rerunning the show at 1am on one of the PBS stations I get, so I've decided to watch what I can while it's first airing (even flipping over during Buffy commercials if I have to) and then tape the 1am show to help pick up the rest.
In other news, I did not go into the bookstore today to buy a book for someone else, only to come out with no books for this person and 3 for myself, including 1 that I most certainly could get out of the library if I didn't mind being patient. So y'all can stop spreading those rumors.
But if I did buy books today, one of them would be another Jamie Oliver cookbook which includs recipes from one of the seasons of Naked Chef where I tried to get them off of the Food Network website only to find everything was still in UK measurements and temperature settings. So there.
Tyler Florence has a cookbook out now too. Man are they trying to make him the US Jamie Oliver. The cookbook designs are very similar and they try to highlight Tyler as someone who makes complex recipes simple - hmm, where have we heard that before?
Still, I am a fan of Tyler's and I wanted to get the book but A) nothing leapt out at me as something I wanted to make, which is suprising b/c I've gotten good recipes off of him via Food 911 so where did those go? and B) there's an intro by Bobby Flay. How on earth can I spend money on something that's got Bobby Flay's name on it anywhere without the words "Must be shot" appearing very soon after? Ugh.
So I put that one back and resolved to try to get it out of the library to see if there were enough recipes in it to make it worth my while.
And now I spend the rest of my evening decompressing and being a lazy bum. This is a good thing.
