And we keep on growing
Mar. 16th, 2003 12:22 pmYesterday was a day of both productivity and frustration. Productivity in that I did a handful of errands that I've been meaning to do for a while - all while having to go in to work to boot - frustration in that as the day wore on I came down with a headache, which rapidly turned into a migrane, which then turned into me this morning wanting to be shot in the head since, honestly, it would hurt less.
But, as migraines are fortunately wont to do, it eventually went away.
Tried a recipe yesterday for vegetable stuffed chicken breasts. Wasn't bad but I found the filling (carrots, broccoli, garlic, breadcrumbs and shallots) to be a little too "sweet". I suspect the shallots. When I try it again at some point I'll either substitute something else or tweak the spices.
Today brings a round of making Irish soda bread. I love making this myself because then I can keep out all the crap people usually put into it. I know some people like raisins in it but I for one do not.
Am also dying to try out new little finger food recipies that I read in a magazine this morning (including a spinach and feta cheese one that I'm drooling over) but am also trying to be a good girl with my budget. Maybe later in the week though when I've got to make more dinners anyway.
Much thanks to those who liked the last Epiphany story and sent emails to say so. I will get back to you later today if I can. I would've done it yesterday if not for the work/migrane thing.
And, finally, I found out some most happy news today! Looks like Older Brother & wife are expecting again! (For those of you playing at home, this would be the parents of the non hobbit child who really, really needs a clever nickname one of these years if I can think of one) Apparently sis in law is 3 months along with a little girl. Woo!
