Snowy update
Feb. 13th, 2006 01:08 pmThe streets here in the land of Siam are actually pretty clear. It's warm enough for the snow to start melting, so if you don't mind occasionally driving through a river it's not too bad.
My co-op's driveway, OTOH, sucks.
Much like the quality of Star Trek movies, the quality of the snowplow service the co-op uses varies from winter to winter. This winter it looks like we're on suck. They did plow yesterday, but near as I can figure they haven't been back since. I heard one of my neighbors this morning take easily a half hour to try to move his car from one single spot.
I went out, shifted my car a little to get it out of a snowdrift, then said bugger this for a game of soldiers. Called the boss and told him if he wanted me at work he'd need to give me a ride.
I got the ride, which isn't as bad as all that. He's gone tomorrow afternoon and Wednesday, so I'd rather work today and get it over with than sacrifice a sick/vacation day to staying home just because my driveway sucks.
Hopefully tomorrow I can start using my own car again.
Also? In related news? The cast iron plot bunny on my porch is named Logan. I am firing all of you for not pointing this out to me sooner.
