More on Morgan, Saturday stuff
Jun. 18th, 2005 03:03 pmIt's not terribly hot out but it is humid. Bleh.
Was up way too late last night due to a rerun of 30 Days being on FX after midnight and then due to me cracking open Morgan's book before I went to bed. I haven't finished the book yet but already I have tons of comments. The short version is that right now I'd label this a must read for everybody.
'tis Saturday, which means I was able to sleep in to help deal with the staying up too late. Did a brunch of crepes which I suspect is emerging as the forerunner for the summer brunch menu. They're easy to mix up with different fillings and the like, plus they have the advantage of being able to prepare the mix the night before so I can wake up and go right to cooking. About the only thing that might influence the matter is that they do involve standing over a hot stove, but OTOH that might have been more uncomfortable today due to the humidity without the AC being on.
Possibly dumb question from someone who is incredibly blender ignorant: is it possible to use the blender to make very icey slushy fruit drinks without things like milk, yoghurt, or cream? I ask b/c I need something to replace hot tea with my brunch and I keep thinking smoothie but I've never liked them before and I doubt I'm going to like them now. Icey slushy fruity drinks, OTOH, would be fine. If I knew how to make them. So... anybody know? (Non-alcoholic, s'il vous plait. I need to wake up, not be given an excuse to go back to bed again ;) )
Have already crossed off a few items on today's To Do List. I have set aside a block of time for working on one big item, then the rest of the day is for cooking and relaxing. Now all I have to do is decide what item that shall be. Decisions, decisions.
