Belly dance class was a lot of fun tonight. We had maybe six students total and got good work done. Next week we're apprently going to try practicing switching off who's leading. So no pressure there or anything!

Got home and watched maybe 15 min of Point Pleasant before answering a phone call from [livejournal.com profile] stakebait mysteriously had more appeal to me. Which actually isn't fair to Mer as I tend to prefer talking to her to most activities, but boy is Point Pleasant just not that interesting or appealing.

Granted, Richard Burgi is in it which was a happy surprise. And man if you're going to cast somebody who's going to try to make a silk purse out of the sow's ear that the script was written on, you could definitely do worse than him. And tonight's ep was written by Ben Edlund which makes me think it should have been good, but... no.

Though I suppose one could make a drinking game out of how many times you say, on behalf of the show, "Get it? GET IT?" in response to the rampant martiphors and other non-subtle elements. But then you'd be dead of alcohol poisoning before the teaser.

And now I go to bed.

Whenever I have my moments of really feeling a need to clear out the clutter in my house - or at least make a tiny dent in it - I am continually amazed to discover the things that I don't throw away. Particularly when they're left right out in the open. I had the old hardware from my sliding closet doors sitting right on my bookshelf. I have no idea why I thought to keep that. In fact I'm pretty sure I didn't think to keep that, and probably just put it there for a second while replacing it with new hardware, and then it immediately faded into the background never to be noticed again.

Just think what other randomness I might find.

Not today, though, as my current yen to clean the house from top to bottom has run smack into 1) Headache 2) leftover backache from shoveling and 3) a vacuum cleaner that cheerfully threw off its fan belt about every two feet, forcing me to stop, unplug it, open it up, slip the fan belt on, close it up again, plug it back in, vacuum two feet, lose the fan belt, and start all over from the beginning. I had to do it, too, because beige carpet and black cats do not make a pretty housecleaning combination. But now I've got "buy new fan belt" on my to do list, so it's good to know I've things to keep me busy.

So I could clean more, but the vacuum broke my spirit and besides I got all the weekly cleaning done before that anyway. Now I get to spend the rest of the day on the computer, taking care of various stuff I am behind on. Let's see how far I get! Woo! Go team! (or me, go me!)

I started chatting with the oh so evil [livejournal.com profile] swmbo about Point Pleasant and it got too long for a comment, so I'm sticking it here.

Heh, I just said "stick it here".

Anyhoo... On sucktacular shows, and TBQ's thoughts after reading two recaps, watching fifteen minutes of an ep, and being spoiled for the rest of the ep by swmbo who is evil )

So there's my notes, and swmbo is still evil.
