That's better

The husband of one of the patients who yelled at me yesterday just came in to apologize.

What made it even nicer is that as soon as he walked in he didn't get a chance to say a word before the boss hauled him into his office to ask, behind the closed but thin door, why his wife had treated me so badly.

So I got an apology, and my honor was defended.

Nobody gets my humor

Conversation as patient is putting on her coat to leave:

Doc: Ready for the freezing cold out there?
Patient: Yeah, yeah. [wistful sigh] You know, some day it will be June...
Me: June 1st, in fact.

Doc and Patient: [both stare at me]
Me: What? It's true.

I'm unappreciated in my time, I tell ya.
