thebratqueen: Captain Marvel (anti-drug)
Good news! My chances of being cast as Peter Brady have now increased about a thousandfold, given the fact that I woke up this morning with a voice so croaky that I can do a spot-on rendition of "It's time to ChAAaaAnge" with little to no rehearsal. I wasn't actually trying to be Peter Brady, but God has seen fit to bestow this gift upon me anyway, so I figure now all I have to do is wait for VH1 to get around to it after that Patridge Family thing they're currently doing and I'm in!

So, yeah, cold. Or possibly bronchitis, depending on what my niece had. Which, ironically, wasn't the thing I was warned about in terms of her being "highly contageious" so it's a double surprise for me. It's nice. Keeps life interesting. Especially the part where I have little to no voice and a good deal of my job involves being on the phone.

But fret not. I'm doing cold med, and Airborne, and tea with honey. Tonight I'll whip up some chicken soup for dinner, and try to take it easy by watching the premiere of Lost. ([livejournal.com profile] ats_nolimits ep 2 premieres tonight at 9pm Eastern too! Don't forget to set your virtual Tivo! ;) )

Also, happy fall! This is quite possibly my favorite season of the year, so I'm glad it's here. No rhyme intended. Ahh, now to spend weeks and months baking things and making warm soups and roasts. =)

Talked to my Mom. Neither of the elf-children had bronchitis, but one of them complained of having a sore throat. And now my mom has strep, according to her doctor.

*sits and feels sick and starts to feel throat pains which may or may not exist simply because the words 'strep throat' entered into the conversation*

Now all I have to do is stick it out for a few hours until work is done, then try to make it to the store for more cold meds and some soup before going home. Assuming I have the energy for the store before going home.

*kicks germs*

Okay, as the work day moved on I started shivering and finding that the whole "standing" concept was a little too much to handle. Also the whole "blinking" concept or "moving my eyes" concept or "breathing" concept.

Boss sent me home early. I did a pit stop for chicken soup, cold meds, and OJ, and now I'm back.

Not that I feel up to actually heating up the soup, or trying to negotiate spoon to mouth, or even drinking a glass of water, but at least I'm back home.

As you can imagine, I'm offline for the rest of the night. [livejournal.com profile] wolfling has graciously agreed to do the post to [livejournal.com profile] ats_nolimits to alert people there as to when ep 2 goes live tonight, so keep your eyes peeled on the group. It's just as well anyway, since Wolf and [livejournal.com profile] mpoetess were the ones to write the ep, so if you love it be sure to tell them.

Now to change into comfy, heavy, warm clothes and ideally spend the rest of tonight in a coma.

Night all!

ETA - just saw the comments to my last post, so editing here to reply in one fell swoop that so far I haven't been showing any signs of strep like a sore throat, which is why I haven't called a doctor yet. But if I don't feel any better by tomorrow, I will. I will also call in sick to work, promise!
