Once again enjoying the power of the Internet

As I know that somewhere out there people have friended me who are even bigger Buffy geeks than I am, I was wondering if any of y'all could clear up a couple of mysteries for me.

I've seen some facts posted around that I've never seen the origin of and I'm dying to know what the origin was if anything. To wit:

1. Xander was the character who was originally going to be gay, but it was changed at the last minute to Willow.

2. Xander was originally going to be the host for Glory, but for some reason this was later changed to Ben.

Anybody got the cites for these? I've seen them bandied around so much I'm dying to read the original interviews or whatnot that talk about it. Can anyone hook a sister up?

Angel season 4 review

"So when are you going to do your Angel season 4 round-up?" people have asked me, and verily I did say onto them "Eep!" and then hid under the covers.

The Angel Season 3 review (with subsequent Wes-related addendum and heck while I'm at it let's throw in a shout-out to the Alternate version of Angel/Cordy) seems so very long ago now. Especially since it was something I mostly wrote off the cuff based on various ideas that were floating around in my head. Rereading it I'm amused to see what I touched on and moreover what I didn't (Connor, anyone?)

Still and all it was an easy wrap-up to write because most of it was yours truly getting off on a rant about all the things that had gone spectacularly wrong in season 3. Come season 4 we actually don't have too many errors. This leaves me sort of mute and pointing at the screen with multiple reviews of each episode that basically boil down to "See that thing? That they did there? That was perfect."

But I've got some free time on my hands right now so... ( why not give it a whirl? )

When I went home for lunch my "always on" net connection had decided to name itself ironically. I didn't get the chance to call the company to find out what was up so not sure what this means for my net connection this evening. Just wanted to mention that as a heads-up for anyone who might want to talk/play with me tonight.

So turns out my network card has apparently given up the ghost. Which I'm told is a cheap problem to fix but OTOH part of me just wants to use this as yet more reason to get a new computer since lord knows there's plenty of others waiting on the pile.

Of course there's the problem of needing to back up all my files without a fully functional CD burner or a working cable modem (currently on right now thanks to dialup) but we'll see. Going to try to hook the cable modem up via USB after I find and download the drivers for that. See if that'll at least work as a stop gap.

All this and I still need to shower and eat dinner. Possibly not all of these problems are going to get solved tonight. Er - the computer ones I mean. I will actually feed myself, promise.
