Mmm... food
Dec. 26th, 2002 09:40 pmWoke up to a bright, clear world of pretty snow on trees but fortunately not on streets or sidewalks. Spent a lazy morning with mom and dad and did the 100 meter mosey just as they were starting to get into a tizzy over Elder Brother & family showing up. Decided that the safest thing to do would be go home and say hi to EB et al. tomorrow.
Also decided to bag on present shopping in favor of a quick trip to the grocery store so I could spend the day making chicken and dumplings. It was a lot of fun but the next time I try this I'm going to skip the first 3 stages which really just amount to "make chicken stock". I mean if I'm roasting a chicken anyway and then making the stock anyway (which is what I always do when I roast chicken) then yeah, I'll use that stock for dumplings. But if all I want is chicken and dumplings then store-bought stock will be more than enough for me.
Still, fun to spend a snowy day cooking. And right now my house smells great. And I am full. Who wants leftovers?
